About this object

White washed steatite scarab seal with details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with a standing figure of the god Thoth holding a uraeus. Pierced through the length for suspension. Glaze now worn away.

Record card says "E. Myers coll. Gives Miss F. Lawrence I.O.M.", originally dated to ca. 1500 BC but date is crossed off in pencil and corrected "ca. 1300, IXI Dyn).
