About this object

Steatite scarab seal with fine details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with a feather, sun-disc and illegible sign possibly representing a baboon. Pierced through the length for suspension. Glaze now worn away. Slightly chipped in places.

Record card says "Ex. Hilton Price collection. Given Miss F. Lawrence", and dates the object to ca. 1200 BC.
