About this object

Black stone jar with pierced lug handles and flat base. Flared rim that is chipped in places. Cracked in two and mended. Described by Petrie as a "hanging stone vase". White sticker near rim: 169. Handwritten note inside the pot: "Found during excavations at Nagada by Prof. F. Petrie 1895 about B.C. 3000. Kennard Sale Lot 8"
