James Andrew Sandilands Grant

Scottish Physician and Collector of Antiquities

Dr James Andrew Sandilands Grant was a physician who worked in Egypt, settled in Cairo and was made Bey by the Khedive. He formed a collection of antiquities which is now largely in the Marischal Museum (University of Aberdeen). Some was acquired by the Garstang Museum of Archaeology (University of Liverpool) who sold or donated parts to National Museums Liverpool and the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology (University of Reading).
