Egyptology Society

Members of the East Anglia Egyptian Society provided financial support to the Egypt Exploration Society for their excavations in the 1920s and 1930s. In return for their sponsorship the East Anglia Egyptian Society was rewarded with antquities from various excavations conducted by the Egypt Exploration Society. These objects were given to Norwich Castle Museum. There they remained until in 1956 when most were sold to Liverpool Museum (now World Museum).
