Katherine Helena Paley was the daughter of Henry Anderson Paley (1859-1946) and Katherine Margaret Paley (nee Gosselin) (1866-1949). She inherited a collection of antiquities, described as being collected by her father. Katherine Helena Paley died on 17 Jun 1966.

On 11 August 1966 Mrs Edith Tyson curator of Lancaster Museum and Art Gallery wrote to the director of Liverpool Museums to offer "a small collection of antiquities from Egypt and Cyprus which once belonged to Mr Austin Paley of Moorgarth, Cation, near Lancaster". The heirs of Miss Katherine Helena Paley were "anxious to have them placed in a museum". The heirs were named as Miss A. M. Robson and Miss Natalie Gosselin of Moorgarth, Caton with Brookhouse, Lancaster.
