About this object

A winged female figure, facing to her left, a votive offering from the Santuary of Artemis Orthia in Sparta (or possibly another sanctuary site in Lakonia). She wears a long and cross hatched design skirt and a high head-dress and has a wreath by her waist. Only one of her feet is preserved. Such representations of the winged female from the Sanctuary are considered to be the goddess herself.
