Portrait of a small boy restored on a modern bust.
This probably portrays a small boy of about five. His hair is cropped and individual locks are indicated by small, plastic , rounded elevations, the hairline almost disappears around the forehead. He has a high forehead, chubby cheeks and a small pointed chin with a dimple. The head is turned to the right and the incised eyes gaze to the right and upwards, his mouth slightly open. The nose, ears (which seem too big for the head), bust and base have been restored. The restorer seems to be Bartolomeo Cavaceppi because of the soapy treatment of the surface, the slowly curving joint between bust and head, the bust form and the shape of the index plaque as well as the head leaning slightly forwards. There are impact marks to the forehead and chin.
