Lid of round ash chest of Antonia Gemella. It appears to have been made in the 18th century AD to fit the ash chest. The knob is made from marble, different from the rest of the lid, which is made of a coarse, grey stone. The upper surface of the lid is decorated with curved flutes radiating from a central calyx. The knob is in the form of the pine cone and is more weathered than the rest of the lid. There is marking underneath the lid which suggests that it was cut mechanically.
