About this object

Jar-like cane basket with square base, cylindrical neck and circular mouth reinforced with plaited rim. Made from two layers of canes, one layer running horizontally round the basket on the outside, the other vertically on the inside, interwoven at a few places to create cross designs. Canes lashed together throughout with twisted fiber string. Twisted fiber suspension loops attached to rim.
