About this object

A man's silver ga'u or amulet box containing a photograph of the Historical Buddha. The front of the ga'u is decorated with Bhutan style repousse work in raised relief in a dense pattern of foliage and flowers, with a kirtimukha (face of glory) at the base. The Eight Auspicious Symbols in copper gilt are attached to the front of the ga'u.
