Thangka of the Historical Buddha seated at the centre in meditation, with his right hand touching the ground (bhumisparsha mudra), which commemorates the moment of his enlightenment. He is surrounded by the Sixteen Arhats and at the base are The Guardian Kings of the Four Directions who protect the Buddhist teachings throughout the universe.
