A studio portrait of Sidkyong Tulku taken by Johnston and Hoffman. The sitter sits with arm resting on a European style side table with legs crossed. The frame is painted and decorated in a Tibetan style. It is signed by Sidkyong Tulku at the bottom right of the photograph in roman script.

    Curator's note: Possibly taken in 1910 during visit to Calcutta with Dalai Lama's entourage. Johnston and Hoffman took several portraits at this time and at the Delhi Durbar in 1911. Although a similar style portrait of his Father Thutob Namgyal in 1912, could also give a possible date.
