About this object

A reclining figure of a man dressed in flowing robes, he appears to be talking or smiling. The figure sits on a separate (ill-fitting) base that represents a rocky landscape. The right hand and left foot are missing. The figure and base are covered in a dark bronze pigment giving the figure a bronzed look. The belly has been rubbed and the pigment has worn off to reveal the brass.
