    Curator's note: Bell has written on the 1st folio, 'Given me by Tharchin (Kalimpong). Describes different kinds of omens (see last page). Tharchin was, Gergen Dorje Tharchin (1890 - 1976), a Christian Tibetan who was the writer, editor and manager of 'Tibet Mirror', a Tibetan language newspaper (only the second of its kind) published in Kalimpong, between 1925 and 1962. Each issue of 'Tibet Mirror' had a print run of just fifty copies and these were sent to various readers in Lhasa, including the 13th Dalai Lama. This printed pecha was printed at the Church of Scotland Guild Mission at the Tibetan Press.
