About this object

Thighbone trumpet made from a human femur, which is ornamented with a copper mouthpiece that is edge with traces of gilt, a rectagular funnel, decorated with a turquoise cabochon setting, a key-design border and trefoil cloud scroll or jui'i repousse designs. The femur is wrapped at the top and bottom third with copper wire.
