About this object

A small drum or damaru the drums made of ivorine (synthetic ivory) stained yellow, stretched over these are leather skins dyed green. The collar is made from a brass coloured metal with filigree work. Set into the collar are turquoise and red glass stones. From the collar hangs a double-sided streamer with silk tassels of fushia pink, purple, gold and green. One side of the streamer shows applique lotus flowers on a red background. The other shows, embroidered in satin stitch are cherry blossoms and a butterfly on a pale green ground.
