  • Note
Previously described as Prajnaparamita on the inventory. In comparing the tracing to known thangka 'schools' it is clear that Mrs Bailey traced this piece from an 18th century thangka from the Palpung / Situ Panchen school. It is unclear if the thangka she used had been in the Bailey collection or if she had used another source. A good thangka to compare this tracing to is that shown on the Himalayan Art Resource, which is in the Rubin Museum of Art Collection F1997.40.6. See http://www.himalayanart.org/image.cfm/587.html
