Rosalinde Cecil Stopford

Wife of Captain Hon. Guy Stopford

Rosalinde Cecil Townley was invested as a Member of the British Empire (M.B.E.). Her married name became Stopford. She gained the rank of Senior Commander in 1940 in the service of the Auxiliary Territorial Service.

She sold several Tibetan items to Liverpool Museum in 1966 and 1967, giving some of the proceeds to the Tibet Society (her nephew Richard Townley was Hon. Secretary of the society at the time).
