About this object

A woman or girl's bodice. A rectangle of tapestry work with plain black cloth backing extending beyond the tapestry at one end. The design is worked in red, black and white wool with geometric and koru (bulbed hook) shapes around a central motif, which is the badge of Te Wharekura o Ruatoki High School. The bodice was made by pupils of the school under the direction of the needlework teacher.
