Despite the internet and instant global communication, amateur radio remains a popular hobby and is a good way into STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) for young people. Join us for a day of activities including:

  • Contacting people all over the world by radio which often leads to developing international friendships.
  • Competing in international competitions to test how effective your equipment is, and how good you are as an operator.
  • Find out how radio works and what effect the Sun has on communication.
  • Discover how radio amateurs helped spy on spies during the war. Have a go at sending Morse Code.
