Every object has a human story behind it. The Weston Discovery Centre is the place where you can find out about the lives of those who made and used them. You can handle objects from World Museum Liverpool's collections and find out how they reveal the astounding achievements of people across the world.
There is plenty to do, with a variety of activities linked to the main themes of the centre, Archaeology, Communication and Textiles. More than 750 objects from the museum's collections are on display in the centre, including exhibits that have never been seen by visitors before. These fascinating artefacts from all over the world, from ancient Egypt to modern day Australia, help to bring the cultures of the world, past and present, to life.

The Weston Discovery Centre holds opinion services on the first Wednesday of every month from 2pm-4pm. These are drop-in sessions and cover archaeology, ethnology and decorative arts.
The assistant curator of Decorative Art and the archaeological finds liaison officer for the North West will be available to give opinions on anything from ceramics, jewellery, silver and other metals, local history, archaeology, antiquities, coins, ethnographic material and antiques. Although valuations cannot be given, you may be able to find out where something is from, its age or what it's made of.
