Feather headdresses

Men make their own feather ornaments, and have to obtain enough feathers through hunting.

The three headdresses on display in the gallery, of which this is one, are similar, but each is unique in the way its base was woven and the choice and placing of the feathers.

Among certain groups, wearing different styles of headdresses is reserved for members of different age groups or those with special privileges.
