Feather sceptres [buta]

Feather sceptres were symbols of rank among the Mundurucú.

On important ceremonial occasions, chiefs and high-ranking men held the sceptres upright by their cane handles. They also wore feather bonnets, armlets, waist belts and chest ornaments.
