The Native Americas

One of the aims of the gallery is to introduce some of the great diversity of Native American cultural traditions. One means of doing this is by focusing on the implements, dress and art from the North American Plains, Northeastern Woodlands and South America – among the key strengths of the World Museum Liverpool collections.

Historical artefacts are relevant to contemporary concerns. Themes such as resistance, continuing traditions and cultural resurgence are highlighted through the artefacts in this section, and throughout the gallery.
