Moccasins

This pair of moccasins is intricately embroidered with dyed moose hair. Catholic Nuns first taught Native American women how to embroider European floral designs at mission schools. The Huron-Wendat excelled at this work, and sold or traded moccasins to both Native Americans and European travellers.
