World Museum Liverpool has important research collections of amphibians and reptiles preserved in alcohol. Specimens from many parts of the world are included, but among the most valuable are lizards from the 1898-99 expedition to Socotra, East African snakes donated during 1957-62 and frogs more recently collected by Museum staff in Ethiopia and Congo Brazzaville.
