Specialist interests:
Responsible for the development, promotion and collection management of NML's nationally and internationally significant zoological collections.
Invertebrate conservation management.
Systematics and biogeography of West Palaearctic Heteroptera (true bugs), with a current emphasis on the British and Turkish faunas and the Lygaeidae (seed bugs).
Current Research Projects
Project leader for an extensive, three-year, invertebrate biodiversity study of soft rock cliff habitat in Wales, for Countryside Council for Wales.
Nymphal taxonomy of West Palaearctic seed bugs.
Key Publications
Author of 42 taxonomic biogeographical, faunistic & conservation management publications; editor of 46 commissioned technical reports, 2 books & a regional entomological journal.
