You can see World Museum's amazing collections really come to life in the new Treasure House Theatre, where all shows are free!

This exciting attraction combines new technology with historic treasures from our collections. With everything from hands-on activities examining ancient exhibits, to live video conference links, there's always something different going on.

Theatre events:

  • Family shows for up to 80 people where you can discover the amazing stories behind some magnificent treasures from the collections.
  • Live performances involving music and dance, linked to our collections
  • Multimedia presentations, films and lectures by experts in their fields.
  • Video conferences linking up to people and places across the world.

Themed sessions

We offer a range of sessions to cater for all ages and abilities, including families, people with special interests and school visits.

  • Death on the Nile (key stage 2, family show) - some unusual 'visitors' will explore the myths and realities of the ancient mummification process in a show you can really get wrapped up in!
  • Samurai Armour (suitable for 8s and over) - demonstrating replica 16th century Japanese Samurai armour, a lucky volunteer gets to become Lord Oda and help us demonstrate this amazing armour.
  • Molly the friendly blue whale - younger visitors can enjoy this special family show for the under 5s. This activity can also be booked by schools and groups on a Thursday morning during school terms.
