Partnership with Wicked Fish
National Museums Liverpool is working collaboratively with Wicked Fish, a theatre and creative arts company, based in Liverpool. The core company comprises five Disabled People, three of whom are performers who have Learning Difficulties.
The Museum of Liverpool and Wicked Fish developed the pioneering exhibition, From There to Here: The hidden history of People with Learning Difficulties in Merseyside, in 2014.
Based on this partnership working, we presented a session ‘Opening Doors’ at the Museums Association Conference on 5 November 2015 with the RAF Museum. The session explored successful partnerships with groups with autism and Learning Difficulties which included an interactive performance by Wicked Fish. Delegates from around the country were able to share experiences, ask questions and learn directly from People with Learning Difficulties in an open and accessible way.
We continue to work together to enable the Museum of Liverpool to be more relevant to, and representative of People with Learning Difficulties.
