Adze

An adze blade in dark-grey, slightly striated stone. The outline and cross-section are asymmetrical with one side thicker than the other. The butt sides are reduced slightly at the front. The surface is polished. The bevel is convex and the chin line curved and oblique. The cutting edge is irregular. The front profile is slightly convex, the back straight. The cutting edge is very blunt. There are small fractures on one side and at the butt end of the back.
