Adze

An adze blade in pale brown stone with an asymmetrical outline and cross-section a rounded square. The butt is undifferentiated. The surface is bruised and ground. The bevel is convex and the chin curved. The cutting edge is curved. The front profile is convex with a rounded angle, the back slightly convex. The cutting edge is blunt and there are old fractures on the butt and one side. There are patches of an orange deposit on the surface, possibly weathering. There are the remains of a label on the bevel.
