Adze

An adze blade in grey stone weathering to orange. The outline is asymmetrical and the cross-section oval. The butt is slightly reduced on one side. The surface is bruised and ground. There are two triangular, convex bevels, one on the front and one on the back. The chin lines are curved, one higher up than the other. The cutting edge is curved. Both profiles are slightly convex. The cutting edge is sharp and chipped. There is an old fracture on the poll and the remains of a label on one bevel.
