Adze

An adze blade in dark grey-green stone with an asymmetrical outline and broadly quadrangular but asymmetrical cross-section. The butt edges are rounded and there is a curved shoulder at the front. There is a facet on the poll. The surface is polished. The bevel is straight and the chin curved. The cutting edge is curved. The front profile is convex, back concave. The cutting edge is sharp with slight chipping. There are old fractures on the sides and on the poll, part of which appears to be broken off.
