Information

Breeding males have a pinkish or grey-brown body with a blue head and a broad blue-white band along the back, belly is pinkish and the throat has a large blue patch, breeding females are orange above. In winter adults are olive to dark brown with a reddish bar across the forehead, a reddish spot above the shoulder and often red or black spots on the flanks. Length up to 33 cm.
