Long narrow body with a rounded end and a narrow mouth. Auction label on the base "171/4". Marked in pencil: "Rustafjaell Coll.". CONDITION NOTE 1998: In two pieces, chipped around break edges, adhesive on break edges, pitted, discoloured, surface dirt. Danson collection no. ?. Purchased as Sotheby's, London, 20-24 January 1913 (Robert de Rustafjaell collection) Lot 171/4 "Three Alabastrons, 5 1/2 in. to 7 1/2 in. long, all slightly varied in form; and a similar Vase, in dark serpentine; the last piece very rare (PI. XIV)".
