An Allegorical Figure: a Young Woman Blowing a Trumpet

This drawing is probably a study for a fresco. The figure may represent Fame, who was often depicted as a woman blowing a trumpet. The drawing has been rapidly sketched. The many flowing lines show Cesari working out the design of the figure. These lines also give the effect of graceful movement, characteristic of Cesari’s style.
