Information

Greenaway had an international reputation as an illustrator of children’s books. She also painted watercolours of children similar to those featured in her illustrations. Greenaway illustrated yearly almanacks for sale; the almanacks contained detailed illustrations, lists and poems. The first Greenaway almanack was published in 1883 and they ran until 1897 (except for 1896). This is an original drawing for the engraving that went in one of the almanacks (the exact year has not yet been identified).
