Black figure. 'Pseudo Panathenaic' (I.e. not a prize amphora). Obverse: Athena with shield bearing 3-legged motif = triskelion, flanked by panthers on columns. Reverse: possibly a contest for rhapsodes. Centre, standing bearded, mature man, on either side are 2 other bearded men, seated. Shapiro's interpretation: competition of rhapsodes. Attribution: Swing Painter (Smith 1958); Princeton Painter (von Bothmer 1987).
