Amulet

Ovalstone of the type known as a 'magical gem'. One one side there is seated figure in the typical position of Harpocrates with bent knees and hands on the knees, three feathers or stems on the head, possibly Isis rather than Harpocrates. The reverse side shows anOuroboros enclosing a Greek inscription in four lines: βριει|νουα|βρασα|ξ → unknown voces, ΝΟΥΑ B Ρ or I A I A. The stone has much scratched surface on both sides and there are chipped edges. .
