Information

A large man's ga'u in the shape of a portable shrine. The body of the ga'u is made from copper with two square loops on each side to hold a strap. The front is made from silver, decorated with the Eight Auspicious Buddhist Emblems in fine repousse work in the style of central Tibet. There is additional gilt decoration for four of the symbols (vase, wheel, conch and parasol) which are set at one of each of the four cardinal directions. The front has three windows, a large arched window to the base and two small arched windows at the top. The edge is decorated with a single row of beading.
