Amulet box / ga'u norbu

A man's arch-shaped ga'u. Made from copper with a silver front plate and square lug handles. The front silver plate is covered with repousse work. The centre framed by a simple line border shows the precious flaming jewel emerging from mount meru. The border is decorated with a scrolling floral motif. The ga'u has been cleaned at some point with a metal polish and a large amount of residue can still be seen.
