Information
Large tubular shaped coarse red ware pottery jar that once contained an ibis mummy. Separate conical lid with remains of plaster sealing (lid diameter 150 mm, height 60 mm) which is smaller than the opening of the jar. Fragile condition: the rim is very damaged with two pieces that have become separate and one piece cracked away away from the body of the vessel but remaining in place.
Marked in pencil 85 and there is a paper label also annotated 85.
