Magdalena de Passe was an active engraver in the northern Netherlands who specialised in landscapes.

This engraving depicts Apollo searching for healing herbs after killing his lover, Coronis, with an arrow. De Passe's composition shows a diversity of natural subjects and vegetation, as wells as changes in weather and atmosphere to reflect Coronis's death. It is inspired by a painting of the same name by Adam Elsheimer (1578-1610) which is on display in Room 3.
