Information
Flint arrowhead with a deep concave base. Pressure flaked on both faces and a thin bi-convex cross section. Would have been hafted onto the end of a spear shaft, and used as a throwing device to hunt animals on land, or for spearing fish.
Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (MacGregor Collection) Lot 1127, "Six Arrow-heads, in brown and ochre coloured flint; the specimen [marked] 1728 found at Abydos, the others Beni-Hasan".
CONDITION NOTE 1998: Worn, surface dirt.
