Arthur Gabriel Madox Brown

A portrait of Ford Madox Brown's youngest son Arthur Gabriel Madox Brown as a baby. Immediately before Arthur Gabriel's death in July 1857, Madox Brown was employed on his new commission of 'Work'. Arthur Gabriel appears in the painting similarly to this drawing supported on the shoulder of his sister in the orphan family, in the centre foreground, but with his red shoulder ribbons changed to black.
