Arthur Owen, merchant seafarer and First World War prisoner of war

Items relating to deceased ship's engineer Arthur Owen of the SS Zealand of the Donald Currie Line. Owen's ship was in Hamburg harbour at the outbreak of World War One and he was interned at Ruhleben civilian prison camp near Berlin. He died of tuberculoses in 1916 and his effects were returned to his wife Sydney Owen.
