The Artist's Drawing Room

William Yelverton was a Liverpool based artist and this watercolour shows his home in the city. According to a note accompanying the painting, the young girl is his sister Elizabeth. This may have been exhibited at the Liverpool Academy as 'Interior of a Room' in 1822 (cat. 134). The dress of the girl and the furnishings probably date this to the early decades of the 19th century.
