Aryballos

Small ovoid alabastron with slightly convex bottom, sagging body, flat rim and vertical lug-handle attached to neck beneath the rim. Decorated with a broad band of dots between borders of thin and thick lines; tongues on the shoulder; solid outer edge of rim; concentric circles on top of rim. Fabric fine-textured tan clay; dull orange and brownish-red paint. Intact but for very slight chips; traces of a black substance adhering to base, perhaps corroded metal.
