Information

Lid that was associated with the ash chest of Pholoe (59.148.234a) and appeared as such in Blundell's Engravings volume. It was restored and it fitted well the ash chest. The lid has the shape of a roof with a low pediment and no acroteria at the back corners. The underside of the lid is roughly worked. The only decoration is the pediment with the plant motif in the form of a central trefoil with leaves spreading out from the centre into the corners. The leaves have cenral ribs and the centre of the trefoil is marked by a drill hole.
